DVD Movie Review: National Treasure 2 - Book of Secrets

On Monday, my dad and I saw National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets. The funny thing is I didn't think I was going to enjoy it, but I actually did. I was laughing throughout the whole movie and it really caught my full attention. My favorite character is Riley (the comic relief). I wish I would have seen it on the big screen, but overall I enjoyed it. I wish it would have been longer, but for sure we are getting another movie and I think it's going to be very clever.

Following is some information for the movie (imdb.com):

Plot:
While Ben is presenting new information about John Wilkes Booth and the 18 pages missing from Booth's diary, one man stands up and presents a missing page of John Wilkes Booth's diary. Thomas Gates, Ben's great-grandfather, is mentioned in the page. It shows that Ben's great-grandfather could have been involved with Abraham Lincoln's murder. When doing more research, the conspiracy takes Ben, Abigail, and Riley to Buckingham Palace (which they break into). It takes them to a book in the White House (which they break into also) and they even steal a page from the book. But in order to see more from the book, their choice is either get elected president or kidnap the President of the United States. Which do they choose? It's obvious. The conspiracy then crosses to Mount Rushmore and they even mention the JFK conspiracy. Can Ben clear his family's name? Or will his family be linked to the murder of Abraham Lincoln? Book Review: Dead and Loving It by MaryJanice Davidson

This week I finished reading Dead and Loving It by MaryJanice Davidson. It had some really great short stories and I really enjoyed them. There were some very provacotive parts to them, but nothing extremely raunchy. I think whoever reads this book will really love it. One thing I really like is that the chapters were short, which made it easier for making me want to keep reading. I was sad that I had actually finished it. Oh well, I have my other series waiting on me.

Following is the books synopsis:

USA Today bestselling author MaryJanice Davidson has enchanted readers everywhere with her delicious blend of wicked humor, sizzling sex, and totally unique vision of vampires and werewolves. In this collection of four novellas she brings her beloved Wyndham werewolves (featured in her acclaimed novel Derek's Bane) together with the vampires ruled by Betsy Taylor (from her bestselling Undead series). Filled with equal parts of spicy heat and laugh-out-loud moments, this collection will drive Davidson's legion of fans wild with blood-pounding delight. (Barnes and Noble Website)

As I said in the last book review, I don't like to read one book knowing that there was another book I needed to read, and I'm really glad it happened that way. Anyway, I hope you guys will pick this one up.

Memorial Day Weekend!

As we all know this past weekend was Memorial Day Weekend. I spent it with my family at my beautiful home that I wish I was at right now. Oh well. My dad came up with us on Friday, so he got pulled into helping us with the cleaning on Saturday. On Sunday was my mom's birthday and she came up with my sister. I spent most of the time playing the Wii with my nephew, then that night there was a Barbecue next door, but it was boring as hell, so I went back to playing the Wii. Monday we just chilled and watched a movie, which I will be doing a review of. So that was basically it. Nothing too exciting. :)

I had to share this with you guys...

I received this email a few weeks back and I just had to share it with you guys. It's all pictures, so I hope you enjoy them.

Book Review: Undead and Unreturnable by MaryJanice Davidson!

Earlier this week, I finished reading Undead and Unreturnable the fourth book from the Queen Betsy Series written by MaryJanice Davidson. This book dragged a little bit. Not that I didn't enjoy the spunk from Davidson's writing, but I didn't really enjoy it as much as the last one. She did introduce a new character, which I think will bring a comedy relief to her upcoming books. Overall, it was a good book and it was a good addition to her series.

Please read the following synopsis for the book:
Though she's the vampire queen, Betsy Taylor is much more like a princess. In MaryJanice Davidson's novels, this high-maintenance monarch is finally coming to terms with her new status. They say Christmas is a time for friends and family. But with a half-sister who's the devil's daughter, an evil stepmother, a fiend living in her basement, assorted spirits and killers running amok, and a spring wedding to plan with the former bane of her existence, Eric Sinclair, Betsy is not sure she'll survive the holidays. Oh, right. She's already dead... (

Next in the series is Undead and Unpopular, and as I started reading it I noticed that they were referencing another book. Apparently, Davidson has anthologies written for this series, so I quickly ordered the two books and will be receiving them today. Just in time for the long weekend; therefore, the next review will be for Dead and Loving It.
If you want a list of her books, go here http://www.amazon.com/gp/series/92826/ref=pd_serl_books?ie=UTF8&edition=paperback. If you want to know more about the author, check out her website here http://www.maryjanicedavidson.net/. Until the next book...
Quick Note: There are two different cover arts for this book, but they are both the same.

What we have at work...

Everyday at work I always have some interesting critter nearby. Most recently it is the roach in the lights above me (see picture below). Not to mention the termite wings that land on my desk every once in a while. It is disgusting. Well...we also have the men's room full of dead roaches. Ewww! Let's not even mention the screeching from the machines in the shop and the consistency of people coming in and out from the door next to my desk. Ahhh...Frustrating. Just wanted to share the work horrors!

In the men's room at work!

Book Review: Undead and Unappreciated by MaryJanice Davidson!

This week I finished reading Undead and Unappreciated the third book from the Queen Betsy Series written by MaryJanice Davidson. I actually really loved this one. There was something highly entertaining and charming about this one that the last one didn't have. I felt that I didn't want put it down, so I finished it very quickly. I think Davidson was very creative in her writing with some new twists for her series.

Please read the following synopsis for the book:
Most women would love to live as royalty, but Betsy has found that being vampire queen has more problems than perks, except for always being awake for Midnight Madness sales. It may be easy to find blood (yuck) in the dark of night, but try finding a strawberry smoothie. And employees at her nightclub Scratch have been giving her nothing but grief since she killed their former boss. Some people...
But Betsy's "life" takes an interesting turn at a baby shower for her wicked stepmother, who lets it slip that Betsy has a long-last half sister. Now twenty years old, this woman just so happens to be the devil's daughter...and destined to rule the world.(http://berkleysignetmysteries.com/book1215)

Next in the series is Undead and Unreturnable, and I am almost finished reading it.

Office Prank Videos

So apparently some people really enjoyed the office prank video I posted, so here are a few more I've found. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

Book Review: Undead and Unemployed by MaryJanice Davidson!

On Saturday, I finished reading Undead and Unemployed the second book from the Queen Betsy Series written by MaryJanice Davidson. Like her last book, I really enjoyed reading the originality for each of her characters. For those of you who don't have a lot of time and want to read a short, fun book, then this is definitely for you. Though, I'm not sure if it was short because I was reading it all the time, or if it is just a short book, but I found it to be enjoyable.

Please read the following synopsis for the book:

Its a few months since Betsy Taylor was made Queen of the Vampires and although she might be Queen there is no money to go with the title. Her house has termites and it has been condemned and she’s been unemployed ever since the day she died. (Death would not have stopped Betsy from returning to work but she was unfortunately laid off from work the day she died.)
A trip to the Unemployment centre is unavoidable but even her vampire mojo can’t make the bureaucrats in the centre give her any practical help with finding a job. Window shopping in the shoe department of Macy’s on the way home to cheer herself up, Betsy impresses the manager with her knowledge of fine footwear and is offered a job selling shoes.
Her new job is just one of her many responsibilities. Someone is killing vampires in Minneapolis and Sinclair and Tina are determined to make Betsy do something about it. When Betsy herself becomes a target for the vampire slayers she treats the problem slightly more seriously. Well, as seriously as she can when one of the teenage vampire killers immediately develops a crush on her!
Will she manage to hold down her job at Macy’s and find out who is behind the vampire killings or will she end up being fired and killed all on the same day – again?(

Next in the series is Undead and Unappreciated, and of course I have started to read it. So far I and really enjoying it.

Book Review: Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson!

Recently, I finished reading Undead and Unwed the first book in the Queen Betsy Series by MaryJanice Davidson. I really enjoy series books and I was glad that this first book did not let me down. Of course, I've already started to read another series that Davidson has written, so I knew I would enjoy this one. If you like funny modern vampire stories, then you should definitely pick this one up. I came across it on Amazon.com, and since they have the 4-for-3 special I decided to take advantage of it. So far she has written seven books for this series, so I have much catching up to do.

Following is the synopsis for the book:

Betsy Taylor is having a bad week. First of all she is made redundant from her secretarial job, and then she is run over and killed in a car accident. For most people this would at least be the end of the bad week but not for Betsey. She rises from the dead as a vampire and despite several attempts to make herself dead again she just can’t stay dead.
To make matters worse her new vampire friends seem to think she is their prophesied vampire queen and they want her to help them destroy the mad vampire master Nostrodamus who currently controls all the vampires in the city. Although Nostrodamus is unpleasant, insane and a cliché of every bad vampire movie Betsy has ever seen, she has other important things to do. Like shopping for some new clothes as day wear is no longer appropriate attire for her.
On the plus side she has met the devastatingly attractive vampire Sinclair, possibly the most scrumptious man she has ever met dead or alive…. (http://www.lovevampires.com/mjdundead.htm)
Davidson did a great job on this first book and I have already started to read the second from her series, Undead and Unemployed. I'll let you know more about it when I finish it. If you want a list of her books, go here http://www.amazon.com/gp/series/92826/ref=pd_serl_books?ie=UTF8&edition=paperback. If you want to know more about the author, check out her website here http://www.maryjanicedavidson.net/. Until the next book...

Saturday Night Convo.

So this weekend we had some friends over and it was one of the funniest times ever. We were having a convo. about the word moist. We were talking about how on Y-100 they were saying that there are some words that people can not stand to hear, and that happened to be one of them. The whole thing started when one of my guests said that her dessert was so moist and then I mentioned the Y-100 thing. But like all things it turned perverted.
Well, when I had the same dessert, I can't remember who said something that I pretty much spit out all the juice from the dessert and I started laughing so hard I almost choked. I pretty much went to the bathroom and had to spit out the piece I did have in my mouth and flush it down the toilet.
I just wanted to thank all of our friends for that laugh. It's the best feeling in the world when you can laugh so hard you can't even breathe. Of course, one of my best friends was laughing as hard as I was and that made everyone else laugh as hard too. I can't wait to have another of those get-togethers again. I just thought I should share that with all of you.

Finally Caught Up...

DVR is the best thing in the world, since you never miss any of your favorite shows. Let me give you the 411 on all the shows I love.

On American Idol, we know that Brooke got kicked out, finally! Also, that Paula made a total fool of herself on the show! On Dancing with the Stars, Shannon Elizabeth got the boot. Too bad about that. She and her partner were really getting hot and heavy, so we won't be hearing as much about them. Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy are really great and I'm so glad they are back. Private Practice will be coming back this fall, which is totally awesome and I can't wait. Also, there are only 4 more models before they announce the next America's Next Top Model.

That's pretty much all the shows I watch. I still have to get caught up on House, which is another great show. Alrighty, until next time.
